Fuji Lifts — part of Alimak Group

What we do

New installations & modernisation.

Fuji Lifts does two things. It supplies and installs complete new lift systems for residential, commercial and industrial buildings, and it modernises existing traction lifts — replacing control, drive, doors and interiors while keeping the shaft and structure. Both are delivered by the same team, to EN 81 and AS 1735.

01 / New installations

Complete lift systems, supplied and installed.

We supply and install complete lift systems for residential, commercial and industrial buildings — from a single machine-roomless passenger lift in a boutique development to grouped installations in high-rise towers.

Equipment complies with EN 81 and AS 1735, so specifications translate cleanly from design documentation to a registered, commissioned installation.

  1. 01

    Specification

We work from the architectural drawings and traffic requirements to establish car size, speed, duty and shaft arrangement.

  2. 02

    Supply

Equipment is supplied to EN 81 and AS 1735, with the cabin, doors and finishes configured to the approved specification.

  3. 03

    Installation

Installation is carried out by our own team, coordinated with the builder’s programme through to commissioning and handover.

  4. 04

    Compliance & handover

Testing, registration documentation and handover of the completed installation, ready for the building’s occupancy.

02 / The range

Four ways to elevate a building.

Passenger lift cabin with hairline stainless steel walls and titanium-gold rear panel

RefD18000

Passenger lifts

Compact machine-room and machine-roomless systems for residential towers, offices and retail. Standard and premium cabin specifications.

Round panoramic observation lift car with laminated glass and stainless steel shades

RefD16000

Panoramic & observation

Round and square full-view cars with laminated glass walls, for atriums, lobbies, hotels and shopping centres.

Titanium-gold mirror etched stainless steel landing door

RefD20710

Landing doors

Etched, mirrored and titanium-finish landing door series, specified to match the lobby design on either side of the opening.

Lift car interior with marble wall panel and titanium-gold trim

RefD58000

Interior specification

Ceilings, handrails, flooring, car operating panels and steel finishes — configured per project against the architectural intent.

03 / Modernisation

Extending the life of an existing lift.

Most lifts outlast the technology inside them. Modernisation replaces the parts that have aged — control, drive, doors, fixtures, interiors — while retaining the shaft, structure and, where sound, the guide rails.

The result is a lift that performs like a new installation, at a fraction of the disruption and with a far shorter out-of-service period than a full replacement.

We also complete modernisation works previously quoted or specified by others, including partially completed projects.

Control systems

Replacement of obsolete controllers with current microprocessor control and diagnostics.

Drives & machines

Conversion to gearless permanent-magnet traction with VVVF control and energy feedback.

Doors & operators

Door operator upgrades for reliability, ride quality and reduced dwell time.

Cabin interiors

Refurbished car interiors, ceilings, lighting, handrails and flooring without replacing the whole lift.

Signalling & COP

New car and landing operating panels, LCD displays and accessibility-compliant fixtures.

Compliance upgrades

Bringing older installations into line with current code requirements.

04 / Engineering

Built on a reliable platform.

Whether the equipment goes into a new shaft or replaces what is already there, it runs on the same drive, control and safety platform.

Gearless traction machine, guide rails and control cabinet
Gearless permanent-magnet traction
Co-axial drive with digital variable-frequency control — low noise, low operating cost, compact footprint.
Energy feedback
Regenerative drives return energy to the building, saving up to 30% compared with conventional VVVF systems.
Machine-roomless & compact machine room
MRL places the machine in the shaft, freeing plant space; CMR keeps the machine room to the footprint of the shaft.
Intelligent group control
Multiple cars coordinated as a group, adapting to real-time traffic to reduce waiting times.

Sectors

  • Residential
  • Commercial
  • Industrial

Alimak Group also introduces Fuji traction lift products into the industrial sectors where it is already active with its rack-and-pinion solutions, providing a broader and more integrated offering.

05 / FAQ

Common questions

Is Fuji Lifts the same company as Fuji Elevators?
No. In December 2025 Fuji Elevators — its service contracts, most of its staff and the Fuji Elevators business name — was acquired by KONE. Fuji Lifts was established as a separate entity at the same time, retaining the lift sales and modernisation business along with several key personnel.
What is the difference between a machine-roomless and a compact machine room lift?
A machine-roomless (MRL) lift places an ultra-thin traction machine inside the shaft and the controller on the top floor, so no separate plant room is needed. A compact machine room (CMR) lift keeps a machine room, but sized to the footprint of the shaft — around 30% smaller than a traditional one.
What does lift modernisation involve?
Modernisation replaces the components that have aged — controller, drive and machine, door operators, signalling and car interior — while retaining the shaft, structure and, where sound, the guide rails. The lift performs like a new installation with far less disruption and a shorter out-of-service period than full replacement.
Which standards do Fuji Lifts installations comply with?
Equipment is supplied to EN 81, the European lift safety standard, and AS 1735, the Australian Standard for lifts, escalators and moving walks. Compliance is confirmed through testing and registration documentation handed over with the completed installation.
Where does Fuji Lifts operate?
Fuji Lifts is based at Port Melbourne, Victoria, and supports new installation and modernisation projects across Australia. Through Alimak Group’s regional network it also reaches the wider Asia-Pacific region.
What is Alimak Group?
Alimak Group is a Swedish, publicly listed provider of vertical access and working-at-height solutions, operating in Australia for over 40 years and market leader in rack-and-pinion industrial lifts and construction hoists. Its brands are Alimak, Scanclimber, Tractel, CoxGomyl, Manntech, Avanti and Fuji Lifts.
